About Interagency Academy

Interagency Academy is a small, alternative high school, with campuses spread out across Seattle, designed to engage students who need different supports than comprehensive schools offer.

How to Enroll: Students enrolling in Interagency Academy can contact Enrollment Services by email at, admissions@seattleschools.org or by phone 206-252-0706 about assignment options. Enrollment and transfer requests to Interagency Academy are coordinated with the Interagency Academy Re-Entry Team, and students are required to attend and engage with re-entry sessions prior to obtaining a schedule and campus placement.  

Interagency Academy is network of small, alternative high schools spread out across Seattle designed to support students who need different supports than comprehensive schools offer. We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to provide unique learning environments with targeted interventions. We are committed to working with every student, regardless of his or her past, and we believe that every student can grow and succeed if given the right support and encouragement.

Interagency Academy assesses each student’s unique qualities; challenges him or her to achieve educational, career, and social goals through personalized learning plans and collaboration with families and agency partners; and inspires each to become self-sufficient and a good citizen of the community.

Choosing Interagency: What Happens Next

Once you choose Interagency, there are a few steps to complete before you begin at your new campus. We’ll guide you through each step, from getting started to meeting your campus team.

Here’s what to expect:

1. Get started — Choose Interagency through Seattle Public Schools.
2. Complete the required pre-Re-Entry introduction — Before Re-Entry begins, complete the online introduction with your family. This is a required first step and is separate from the three-day Re-Entry experience.
3. Complete the Three-Day Re-Entry Experience
   • Days 1–2: In person — Attend both required in-person Re-Entry days and complete the scheduled activities.
   • Day 3: Virtual Re-Entry — Complete the required virtual Re-Entry activities and submit your work.
   • All three Re-Entry days are required to complete Re-Entry.
4. Receive your campus placement — Find out which Interagency campus you will attend and what to do next.
5. Start at your new campus — Meet your campus team and begin your Interagency experience.

Step 1: Getting Started

Choose Interagency through Seattle Public Schools.

If you’re choosing Interagency for your student, the first step is to complete the school-choice process through Seattle Public Schools. Once Interagency is selected, we’ll provide information about what to do next.

Step 2: Learn About Interagency & Prepare for Re-Entry

Complete the required online introduction with your family.

Before Re-Entry, students and families will learn more about Interagency, what to expect, and the different campus options. Students will complete a few activities to get familiar with Interagency and share some information about themselves.

Remember: You have chosen to attend Interagency—not a specific campus. Campus placement happens later in the process and considers student and family input along with campus availability and needs.

Families are encouraged to participate so everyone understands the choice to attend Interagency and what comes next.

This online preparation must be completed before attending Re-Entry.

This is also an opportunity to think about whether Interagency is the right fit for you before you attend Re-Entry.

Step 3: Attend Re-Entry

Come to Re-Entry and get ready for your new school experience.

Re-Entry is a required three-day experience for students joining Interagency, including two days in person and one virtual engagement day. During Re-Entry, you’ll learn more about how Interagency works, complete your Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP) and Advisory Binder activities, and prepare for your transition to an Interagency campus.

Both days are required. Students are expected to follow Seattle Public Schools’ districtwide cell phone expectations, including no cell phone use bell-to-bell during the school day.

Your attendance at Re-Entry begins your participation timeline with Interagency.

Step 4: Complete Your Virtual Day

Stay engaged online for your required virtual day.

After the two in-person Re-Entry days, you’ll complete a required virtual engagement day. You’ll log in, complete the assigned activity, and submit your work online.

Your completed work provides confirmation of your virtual participation for the third day.

Step 5: Receive Your Campus Placement

Find out where you’ll begin your Interagency experience.

After you complete the three-day Re-Entry experience, you and your family will receive information about your assigned Interagency campus.

Your placement will include information about where to go, when to report, and who to contact if you have questions.

Remember: Your campus placement is determined after Re-Entry. Choosing Interagency does not mean choosing a specific campus.

Step 6: Start at Your New Campus

Meet your campus team and get started.

Once you receive your campus placement, you’ll report to your assigned campus and meet the team that will support you. Your campus team will help you get settled, learn the routines and expectations, and begin your educational experience at Interagency.
