Interagency Recovery Campus is the only public sober high school in Washington and is designed to help teens and young people in recovery from substance use disorder. Students self-elect to attend the school and commit to actively working toward their academic goals in a sober environment. We believe the opposite of addiction is connection and community and that is what we strive to provide for our students.

Often, students have a sustained period of sobriety upon admission. Newly sober students committed to a substance-free lifestyle are enrolled on a case by case basis and work with our substance use counselor to create a recovery plan. Once enrolled, our substance use counselor guides youth as they build recovery supports in and outside of the school. A return to active use can impact whether a student continues to meet enrollment eligibility. If that happens, and the student is receptive, concrete plans are made to ensure sobriety, stability, and safety. These plans can include residential treatment.

The number one goal of Interagency Recovery Campus is to maintain and provide a safe and sober environment where young people in recovery pursue their academic and career goals.
