Seattle Public Schools Sexual Harassment Policy

Gun Free Policy

The district has a gun-free schools policy that includes one-year mandatory expulsion for firearms, mandatory notification of student violations to parents/guardians and law enforcement, and allows the expulsion to be modified by the chief school district officer or designee on a case-by-case basis. Sec 4141 (b)(1) and Sec 4141(h)(1).

Non-Discrimination Policy

SPS complies with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to: Title IX, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and RCW 49.60 (The Washington Law Against Discrimination). SPS’s compliance includes, but is not limited to all District programs, courses, activities, including extra-curricular activities, services, and access to facilities.
